oranges - 1 kg;

granulated sugar - 1 kg. ;

And just now, in the middle of Verna, oranges began to multiply with terrible force on my windowsill, and in such quantity that we no longer had time to eat them, so I decided to make jam from them.

I have small, red oranges, I don’t know what the variety is called, but they taste sour.

I give the proportions of the products based on 1 kg of PEELED oranges.

So, 1 kg of oranges WITHOUT peel (12-13 small oranges), 1.5-2 tbsp. water (the more water, the thinner the jam will turn out), 1 kg of sugar, 1 lemon (not included in the frame).

Let's make the syrup first:

My oranges, peel, cut into pieces not too small in size, so as not to get a shapeless mess. I cut the oranges into such circles 5-6 mm thick.

Chopped oranges and lemon, as well as the juice that leaked out during slicing, are thrown into boiling syrup.

Then bring to a boil, while the foam can not be removed, it will not be much, and then, if it is not removed, it will “dissolve” itself. Then we make the weakest fire and “evaporate” the jam by about a third of the original volume for about 1.5-2 hours.

We cool the finished jam and pour into jars.

The jam turns out to be very sweet, so I would not advise refusing to use lemon in its preparation.
