I want to say right away that, in fact, I have nothing against CC Meridian, but since they organized a corporate party for us, it deserves a separate discussion.
Through the course of my work, I am very familiar with restaurant business. Therefore, I was appointed responsible for the corporate party scheduled for December 27, 2007. The program was as follows: 17:00 - aperitif, 18:00 - 21:00 performance, 21:00 - 24:00 buffet and disco. At 15:00 I arrived at the place and found that half of the appetizers, including cheeses and tongue rolls, were already on the tables (this is 6 hours before the start of the buffet), naturally I demanded that everything be put in the refrigerators. No matter how, all the refrigerators are already occupied with the remaining dishes. Thank God it was cool outside and we organized a room in which all the windows were opened. All snacks were taken there. But how the people in this business could put snacks on the table 6 hours before the start is a mystery to me.
Further more interesting. Around 18:00, after the end of the official part, I discovered that the third floor was already FULLY reserved. All snacks are on the tables, wine and juices are poured into glasses (3 hours before the start). Of course, I understand that the service staff wants to quickly finish and go home, but why should we drink spent wine and windy snacks.
But the most interesting thing began when the buffet began. Naturally, during the first hour, almost all the snacks on the tables were eaten. I went to the kitchen and found that there was still a LOT of our food, but no one was in a hurry to put it out in the hall. Yes, I understand the waiters were busy cleaning, but why did no one take snacks to the hall on the way back from the sink. Both managers from the side of Meridian did not react in any way to what was happening, they were up to the lantern. Then we ran out of glasses. ALL. Both for wine and juices. Of course, I understand that it’s easier for waiters to stand and pour nothing for anyone (there are no glasses) than to go to the sink and pick them up from there (I checked that the sink worked properly). It turned out a funny situation - there is wine on the table, the guests ask to pour it, to which the waiters refuse due to the lack of dishes. At the same time, the waiters stand and do NOTHING about this, however, just like their leaders. They just don't care, the prepayment is 100%.
But this is not the worst. At one point, a waiter rushes past me with three bottles of champagne. I thought, what a fine fellow, probably carried the guests. But what was my surprise when I discovered who this champagne was really intended for. In a cozy corner, at the end of a long hall on the second floor, where all the plants were moved, there was a company of waiters sweetly eating OUR snacks and drinking OUR wine. And this is at a time when we did not have elementary clean glasses. Kick-Ass. Further, passing by the station with drinks, I saw a strange swarming, lifted the tablecloth and saw two waitresses there doing the same. UNDER THE TABLE.
I, approximately, saw the workload of all tables and knew the number of drinks on each of them. I was very surprised when I discovered that in the place where there were the least guests, there was the least wine left. But there was a big black bag of garbage. Why in a place where there are no guests so much garbage. I looked into the bag and, lo and behold, there was wine and champagne and beer, and in such quantity that it was difficult to lift. None of the waiters, of course, knew anything. I called the manager, who also threw up his hands, and told him that I wanted to see this package in the bar on the second floor in five minutes. As you understand, neither five nor ten minutes later I did not wait for him. When I went back up and asked where the bag was, the waiter calmly replied that it had already been taken downstairs. What was his surprise when I found this bag under the next table! As I understand it, this all happened with the tacit consent of the manager.
The party was coming to an end when it turned out that several stations had already run out of alcohol. But as soon as I looked under the tables ..... You would have seen the eyes of the waiters and waitresses that hate me. I also stopped several more attempts to carry our alcohol in bags TOGETHER with garbage. At the same time, managers, each time, made round eyes.
