Lavash rolls- it's very simple. And delicious. And satisfying.

And, what is very important, if you diversify the fillings, then you will have several dishes on the table that will be quite a bit similar in appearance, but may radically differ in taste.

I bring to your attention 20 different fillings.

But, before sharing recipes with you, I would like to remind you of a few simple rules for making rolls. And here are some tips that you might find useful:

  • As you know, thin unleavened pita bread is the basis of the rolls. On the shelves, you can periodically see lavash with different flavors (with onions, with herbs, etc.). If you want to cook rolls, then it is better to take the fresh look;
  • In almost all recipes for making pita rolls, either mayonnaise, or sour cream, or soft cheese is used. These ingredients are used as a spread. If your recipe assumes garlic, herbs, spices, then it is recommended to finely chop (grind) these components of the recipe and mix with the spread. Let it brew for 15-20 minutes. The spread will have an original taste. And this taste will be evenly distributed (along with the spread) over the entire area of the rolls;
  • When your recipe has a lot of ingredients, it is better to double the rolls. For example, if the recipe includes mushrooms and chicken, then you can put the mushrooms on one sheet, after applying the spread (for example: mayonnaise with herbs), put the mushrooms, cover with a second sheet of pita bread, on which again apply the spread (for example: mayonnaise with garlic), and already then twist the roll;
  • After the roll is ready, you need to roll it very tightly, fix it with cling film or foil, and send it to the refrigerator for 30-40 minutes. And only then cut into rolls;
  • Use lettuce leaves to garnish and flavor the dish. Rolls look good on green leaves, and the taste of soft rolls is well complemented by crispy tender lettuce leaves;
  • If you come across an oval-shaped pita bread, then you need to cut its edges to a rectangular shape. Then all the rolls will be the same thickness.

Delicious homemade shawarma recipe

The way to a man's heart is through shawarma, a joke of course, but as an option. Home-cooked shawarma will not leave anyone indifferent. Everyone has tried this dish in fast food places, but it cannot be compared with homemade shawarma. Here you can also experiment with fillings, let's use the products that are at hand, or you can cook according to the classic recipe, which I will discuss below.

Compound:

  • Lavash (Armenian) - 1 piece
  • Chicken fillet - 500 g
  • Red onion - 1 pc.
  • white cabbage - to taste
  • Tomatoes - 2 pcs
  • Cucumber - 2 pcs
  • Bulgarian pepper - 1 pc.
  • Garlic - 3 cloves
  • Mayonnaise - to taste
  • Salt and pepper - to taste
  • Greens - to taste

First you need to cook the chicken fillet, in fact, you can use any part of the chicken you want. Cut the meat into strips and fry in a frying pan in hot oil for about 15-20 minutes. If you have a grill, cook the chicken in it.

Prepare garlic sauce: peel the garlic and pass through a press, mix with mayonnaise and add finely chopped greens to the sauce. Leave for 10-15 minutes so that the sauce is as if saturated with garlic and herbs.

Cut vegetables into strips. On the table, unfold a sheet of pita bread, grease it with garlic sauce and put vegetables with chicken fillet on top. I laid out alternately vegetables and meat, in fact, you can mix the filling if desired.

Wrap pita bread with an envelope, like stuffed pancakes.

Try to wrap the shawarma as tightly as possible, so it does not fall apart.

So that the pita bread does not soften from the sauce and vegetable juice, you need to dry the finished shawarma. Fry in a dry frying pan on both sides for no more than 3 minutes.

Crispy pita bread and juicy vegetables with chicken - what could be better for a snack. In principle, the filling can be completely different in composition and to your taste. Imagine and prepare.

Shawarma should be served immediately after the final roasting, I do not recommend storing the finished dish, it will soften and lose its appearance.
