I think this hearty unsweetened casserole will become one of the most beloved in your family and will deservedly take the main place on the holiday or everyday table for lunch or dinner.

Delight your loved ones with delicious masterpieces prepared by yourself.

Ingredients:

  • Potatoes – 1 kg.
  • Minced meat (I use homemade pork) – 800 gr.
  • Mayonnaise – 4 tbsp. l. (can be replaced with sour cream).
  • Tomatoes – 6 pcs.
  • Eggs – 4 pcs.
  • Milk – 100 ml.
  • Hard cheese – 150 gr.
  • Butter – for greasing the mold.
  • Salt - to taste.
  • Ground black pepper - to taste.

Cooking process:

Let's start by preparing the potatoes for the casserole. Peel, rinse thoroughly in several waters and cut into thin slices (approximately 1 mm thick). Cutting into slices like this will help the potatoes cook faster.

I had prepared the minced meat for the casserole in advance. The composition is as follows: fatty pork, rolled with onions, garlic, 2 eggs added to the minced meat, salt and ground black pepper to taste. Everything is thoroughly mixed.

Carefully grease the prepared casserole dish with butter.

Then spread half the chopped potatoes in an even layer and add a little salt (a little bit).
Spread half of the prepared minced pork in an even layer over the potatoes.
Then place sliced slabs of fresh tomatoes (approximately 5-6 mm thick, thinner is not necessary, tomatoes cook quickly). You can also add a little salt.

The fourth layer of the casserole will again be potatoes.
Then the remaining minced meat. We also distribute it evenly over the entire surface of the casserole.
Now you need to prepare the filling for the potato casserole. In a deep bowl, beat 2 eggs and milk. Salt a little, you can season with ground pepper.
Carefully, so that the filling penetrates evenly into the casserole, helping with a fork, pour the whipped mass into the mold.
Coat the top well with mayonnaise. If you like it, you can add more mayonnaise.

Place the potato casserole with minced meat (without sprinkling cheese) in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 1 hour.

During this time it should be completely baked.
5 minutes before the end of time, remove the casserole dish from the oven and sprinkle the surface with cheese grated on a coarse grater.

Put it back in the oven. When the cheese melts and browns a little, the casserole of potatoes and minced meat is ready.
You can turn off the oven and leave the casserole in it for 3-5 minutes.

Then take it out, cut it and serve the delicious homemade potato casserole in portions, garnished with herbs and fresh tomatoes.
Your family will be delighted!

Let's cook and experiment, because there are a huge variety of ingredients for delicious casseroles, so it is possible to prepare delicious and varied casseroles and not repeat them for a very long time.

Now you can cook!

We continue the course of the young housewife. Today I made my first potato casserole. Much to the joy of my husband and children, who almost ate it all in one sitting. The recipe is surprisingly simple and does not require much energy. A successful combination of potatoes, eggs and flour. The casserole holds its shape, and the taste is softer and juicier than the one traditionally served in public catering. And she looks much more cheerful. To get the same, take eggs with a bright yolk color. This potato casserole with minced meat is prepared in the oven, recipe with photos step by step, I hope everything will be clear, fortunately there are actually no difficulties. A casserole is actually easier to prepare than, for example, cutlets with mashed potatoes.

Ingredients:

  • Minced meat – 500 g,
  • Potatoes – 1 kg (unpeeled weight),
  • Eggs – 3 pieces,
  • Flour – 3 level tablespoons.
  • Medium sized onion - 1 piece,
  • Cheese – 100 grams,
  • Sour cream – 2 tablespoons,
  • Salt – 1.5 teaspoons,
  • Pepper to taste

How to cook potato casserole with minced meat in the oven

1. Let's start the process with potatoes. We wash, peel (during the peeling process the weight of the potatoes decreases to 700-800 grams), cut in half, fill with hot water and cook until tender. It takes me 35-40 minutes. Readiness is checked with a fork. If it goes into the potatoes easily, it’s ready.

2. Finely chop the onion and pour it into a frying pan greased with vegetable oil.

Fry until golden brown for 7-10 minutes over medium heat until golden streaks appear.

3. Place minced meat in a frying pan. Any one you like best. We have the most popular option - mixed minced pork and chicken. Very good with pork and veal.

4. Mix the minced meat with onions, put it on the stove and cook for 15 minutes, stirring and breaking up the minced meat with a spatula so that it does not stick together into lumps. I don’t recommend leaving the minced meat unattended, especially for the first five minutes, because it sticks together during this period. And when you already see that there are no raw areas left, you can move away from the stove, because the fried minced meat no longer sticks together.

5. Drain the water completely from the finished potatoes and mash the hot water with a masher. This is an important point. Cooled potatoes will become sticky and you won’t be able to mash them properly.

6. Let the potatoes cool a little, add three eggs and three tablespoons of flour (without a slide!).

Mix. It should look like a yellowish mass.

7. That's it. All that remains is to assemble the casserole. It will consist of six “floors”:
- potato,
- cheese,
- ground meat,
- cheese,
- potato,
- sour cream.

Take a casserole dish. Lubricate the bottom with oil. Divide the potato mixture approximately in half. Place half on the bottom of the pan and level with a spoon. The better you level it, the more aesthetically pleasing the layer of minced meat will look.

Then add a layer of grated cheese. Not much, 50 grams is enough.

Top with a layer of minced meat. We also level and lightly tamp.

A little more cheese on top of the minced meat.

And again potatoes on top. To ensure that the potatoes lie flat, spoon them in heaps onto different areas of the casserole, and then smooth them out with gentle movements.

Make the top layer as even as possible. Some people draw grooves of various shapes along it for aesthetics. But for the first time I decided not to take risks.

And finally sour cream. I have 20 percent.

8. Place the potato casserole with minced meat in the oven. Temperature – 180 degrees. Baking time is very individual. The casserole is ready when the top is golden and shiny. My oven completed this task in an hour.

In order for the casserole to hold its shape well, you need to let it cool until warm. Then cut with a sharp knife and arrange on plates, prying with a thin, well-gliding spatula. Bon appetit!
