If there are no bubbles or hissing, remove the slice and continue heating the oil for another 10-30 seconds.
  6. Fry over medium heat until golden brown, then stir and continue frying. During this time, do not cover or turn the potato slices too often.
  7. When the potatoes are almost ready, chop the garlic and pour it into the pan. Add salt, pepper, seasonings, mix thoroughly.
  8. If by this time the golden brown crust is weakly expressed, the gas level is increased to maximum, and the potatoes are cooked on it for 3-5 minutes. Only after this garlic and seasonings are added.
  9. After adding the garlic, cover the pan with a lid, reduce the gas level to minimum and fry the potatoes with garlic for another 4-7 minutes.
  10. After this time, turn off the gas and stir the potatoes. At this stage, chopped dill is added.

The dish is ready! All that remains is to put it on plates and serve it to the table.

Step 1: prepare the potatoes.

First of all, put a saucepan filled with half-purified water over high heat and bring the liquid to a boil. At the same time, take a medium-sized potato and carefully, using a stiff kitchen brush, wash it under cold running water to remove sand and any other contaminants.

Then we place the vegetable on a cutting board and, without removing the peel, cut each tuber into slices or pieces of arbitrary shape, thick from 1.5 to 2 centimeters. Transfer the slices to a deep bowl and proceed to the next step.

While they are warming up, remove the top husk from the head of garlic, but do not peel the cloves, just remove them from the stalk.
Next, pour the required amount of Provençal herbs and ground black pepper into a small mortar. Grind the spices with a pestle until smooth and set aside, they will come in handy later.

Approximately after 3 – 4 minutes the mixture of oils will warm up well, carefully transfer the slightly dried potatoes into the frying pan, put the garlic cloves there and increase the temperature of the stove to a level between medium and high.
