To prepare this salad we will need the following ingredients:

  • boiled beef – 300 g
  • boiled eggs – 4 pcs. + 1 yolk for decoration
  • hard cheese – 150-200 g
  • pickled cucumbers – 3 pcs.
  • boiled carrots – 2 pcs.
  • onions – 2 heads
  • any salted mushrooms (preferably honey mushrooms, milk mushrooms or saffron milk caps) – 200-250 g
  • boiled potatoes – 4 pcs.
  • olive or vegetable oil - 1 tbsp. spoon
  • mayonnaise to taste
  • salt and black ground pepper
  • parsley for decoration

Boil the potatoes in their jackets and grate them. Spread half the portion on a salad bowl in a thin layer. Salt and pepper, make a thin mesh of mayonnaise on top. Chop the mushrooms and onions very finely and season with 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil.

We lay them out in a second layer. We also use only half the portion. Next, lay out all the finely chopped beef, three pickles on it and pour mayonnaise on it. Grate any hard cheese on top, Dutch is best.

Spread with mayonnaise over the entire surface of the salad. Next come the eggs, which we first boiled and then grated. We make a mesh of mayonnaise and lay out the rest of the grated potatoes and mushrooms with onions. Boil the carrots and grate them on a very fine grater, spread them in the next layer and pour in mayonnaise. Next comes cheese and mayonnaise again.

Layered chicken salad with fried mushrooms

For this salad we use the following ingredients:

  • potatoes - 3 pcs.
  • boiled chicken breast – 400 g
  • eggs – 4 pcs.
  • carrots – 2 pcs.
  • onion – 1 pc.
  • raw champignons – 200 g.
  • pickled cucumbers – 3 pcs.
  • hard cheese – 200 g.
  • mayonnaise – 200 g.
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • green onion for garnish

This salad differs from the classic Melnik in that it replaces salted mushrooms with fried ones, and beef with chicken. This salad turns out to be fattier and higher in calories. To prepare, you need to boil the potatoes and grate them. Place on a salad bowl in the shape of a circle, add salt and pepper to taste.

Pour mayonnaise onto the potatoes and spread. Place the next layer of pickled cucumbers, also finely grated. We only use half. Cut the mushrooms into small pieces and fry in vegetable oil for several minutes, add the onion, cut into quarter rings, and simmer until tender. This will be the third layer of our salad.

Make a thin mesh of mayonnaise and place the chicken on top. It must first be boiled in salted water and finely cut into cubes. Pepper a little and spread with mayonnaise. Next, lay out the remaining cucumbers. Then come the eggs. We boil them and grate them on a fine grater, salt them and grease them with mayonnaise.

Rub a thick layer of hard cheese on top. It is better if it is spicy or salty cheese. We sprinkle it all over the salad and on the sides. Decorate with a sprig of green onion and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

Miller with tongue and ham

This salad is distinguished by its exquisite taste and tenderness. We will need the following ingredients:

  • boiled tongue – 200 g.
  • lean ham – 200 g.
  • fresh cucumber – 2 pcs.
  • corn – 150 g.
  • hard cheese – 200 g.
  • potatoes – 3 pcs.
  • greenery
  • garlic – 3 cloves
  • mayonnaise, salt and pepper to taste

Cut the tongue and ham into thin strips. Grate potatoes, cheese and cucumber. We make a dressing from garlic, herbs and mayonnaise, we will coat each layer with it.

To prepare it, finely chop the garlic and parsley with dill, add salt and mix with mayonnaise. If desired, it can be replaced with sour cream. Lay out the following layers: potatoes, ham, cucumber, tongue, corn and cheese.

    This dish is sometimes also called “Hunter’s” salad. Where this name came from is not known for certain. Regardless of this, the “Melnik” salad, which can also be found under the name “Old Miller”, turns out to be very filling, beautiful, airy and tasty.

    Ingredients

    In order to pamper our household and guests with this dish, we need to prepare the following products: salted mushrooms, onions, cheese, mayonnaise, vegetable oil, boiled beef meat, pickles, chicken eggs, potatoes and carrots. As for the quantity, there are no strict restrictions: it all depends on your taste preferences. In general, it is recommended to use four to five medium-sized potatoes, three carrots, four eggs, 250-300 grams of hard cheese, half a kilo of meat, several pickles, 400 grams of pickled mushrooms, a small onion and mayonnaise to taste. Moreover, it is necessary to pay attention that the mushrooms need to be salted, and in no case pickled. It is best to purchase black milk mushrooms, but you can use saffron milk caps, capillaries and other lamellar mushrooms, which are available in abundance on sale today. As for cheese, in order for it to be easily grated, it is necessary to purchase hard varieties. It's best if it tastes spicy (Dutch cheese is a good option).

    Cooking process

    Since the “Old Miller” salad consists of chopped ingredients laid out in layers on a large dish, we will dwell on the process of preparing each layer separately.

    Drain the brine from a 400-gram jar of mushrooms, chop the mushrooms into small pieces and place on a large dish. Add finely chopped onion, vegetable oil, mix thoroughly. Thus, we have the first layer of delicious salad.
