To ensure that your simple and tasty Prague salad has high taste qualities and satisfies the requirements of even the most picky guests, remember some secrets of experienced chefs:

  • If you use boiled meat as a meat base, to make it tasty and juicy, cook the product over high heat, neglecting the taste of the broth.
  • For Prague, take cucumbers that are moderately salted, but not sour. If you don’t want your simple salad to float on the table before your guests arrive, don’t forget to squeeze the chopped vegetables well before forming them into a separate layer of appetizer.
  • Pay special attention to the onions - properly pickled, they will make the appetizer even more delicious, so stick to the following proportions: for 2-3 onions you need to take half a teaspoon of salt, two teaspoons of sugar and two tablespoons of vinegar.
  • If you don’t have a lot of time to marinate the onion, pour it with the spices not with cold water, but with boiling water - this technique will help quickly rid the vegetable of bitterness and acquire the sour-sweet taste familiar to the finished product.

Simple and tasty Prague salad for the festive table - ingredients and step-by-step recipes with photos

Salad "Prague" is a refinement of taste, laconic style, as well as the simplicity of ingredients and the luxury of their combination. This dish has more than one recipe, there are quite a lot of them. All of them are varied and at the same time absolutely individual in their preparation. In short, this is something you should definitely cook at least once.

On this page you will find several different variations of the preparation of this well-known treat. Especially for you, our dear reader, we have selected the best, most delicious and original recipes. Choose the one you like, enjoy its uniqueness and rich taste.

Recipe one: With prunes, chicken and walnuts

We will need:

  • Chicken fillet (you can use turkey meat) - 300 grams;
  • Chicken egg - 3 pcs.;
  • Canned green peas (for example, Bonduelle) - 200 grams (small jar);
  • Carrots - 2 pcs.;
  • Prunes (pitted) - 100 grams;
  • Pickled cucumbers - 4 pcs.;
  • Mayonnaise - 200-250 grams;
  • Onion - 1 onion;
  • Table vinegar - 2 tbsp. l.;
  • Walnuts – 100 grams;
  • Water (to dilute vinegar);
  • Salt to taste.

Preparation:

  1. Let's start preparing the salad by boiling our main ingredients: we need to boil chicken fillet, carrots and hard-boiled eggs. I think it would be superfluous to tell you that the water is salted during cooking, the chicken is cooked for 20 minutes under the lid after boiling, the carrots for half an hour, and the egg for even less. In general, we cooked it, took it out of the water, cooled it;
  2. Cut the boiled chicken fillet into small cubes with a sharp knife;
  3. Grind hard-boiled eggs on a coarse grater;
  4. In the same way (using a grater) we turn boiled carrots into grated ones. Before grating, you need to peel the skin off the carrots;
  5. Now the most difficult operation is cutting the onion. Let's clean it and turn it into small cubes on a cutting board. To avoid tears, the knife should be periodically dipped in cold water. Then pour the chopped onion with diluted table vinegar and marinate for 10-15 minutes to remove the bitterness. Yes, we also add salt and pepper to the marinade - this is a must;
  6. While the onions are pickling, we will also cut the cucumbers into small cubes;
  7. Wash the prunes, pour boiling water over them to steam for 5 minutes. Then drain the water and finely chop the cooled prunes with a knife. In general, the main ingredients for assembling the salad are ready. Our salad is layered, so we assemble it layer by layer and coat it with mayonnaise sauce between the ingredients;
  8. Lightly toast the walnuts to add a unique flavor to our salad, and then chop them a little;
  9. We lay out layers: chicken fillet, pickled onions, eggs, cucumbers on top, then a succession of carrots, green peas, walnuts. We finish everything off with prunes. On top of it we draw a diagonal mayonnaise grid (diamond-shaped or trapezoidal), decorate the perimeter with green peas.
  10. Finally, we leave the “Prague” salad in the refrigerator for a couple of hours, there it will soak well - and on the table!

Recipe two: with chicken, prunes and spicy cheese

We will need:

  • Fresh chicken – 250 grams;
  • Spicy cheese – 140 grams;
  • Large prunes (pitted) – 190 grams;
  • Carrots – 1 pc.;
  • Green peas (canned) – 1 jar;
  • Onion – 1 pc.;
  • Testicles – 4 pcs.;
  • Pickled cucumbers – 2 pcs.;
  • Mayonnaise – 1 packet;
  • Salt.

Preparation:

  1. The main salad ingredient in this recipe is chicken. That's where we'll start. Peel off the skin of a suitable piece, then throw it into boiling water with salt and spices. We are waiting for it to boil. Then we let it cool so as not to burn our fingers, and take out the seeds. Cut the resulting meat coarsely into cubes;
  2. The second product that we will heat treat is eggs. Let's boil them as expected. Then let it cool, preferably in cold water. Chop the peeled eggs into thin slices;
  3. Next, let's deal with prunes. Let's sort it out and wash it well. Then throw all the berries into boiling water; 20 minutes of steaming will be enough. Then chop the large fruits into thin strips;
  4. With cucumbers it’s even simpler: grate them on the largest holes of a grater, and then squeeze the juice in your fist;
  5. Peel the onion from “a hundred clothes”, chop it into cubes, not forgetting to wash the vegetable before doing this;
  6. We thoroughly wash the carrots from the soil, then peel off the skin. Using the middle holes of the grater, grate it into strips;
  7. Chop the cheese into shavings of any thickness, as you like;
  8. Now, since our salad recipe is layered, we’ll lay out the ingredients layer by layer: first the chicken, then the cucumbers, after them onions, eggs, then comes the turn of carrots, canned peas, then prunes. A layer of cheese shavings completes all this splendor;
  9. Between layers, be sure to coat everything with mayonnaise, preferably the least fatty one.

Tip: Layered salads usually contain a lot of mayonnaise. You can save it and also protect the dish from “drowning” in the sauce as follows: cut off a small corner of the soft mayonnaise packet, then draw thin patterns or cobwebs on the layers. The treat will be well soaked, and much less sauce will be spent.

Recipe three: With chicken, mushrooms and prunes

We will need:

  • Fresh mushrooms (white, champignons) – 220 grams;
  • Chicken – 220 grams;
  • Prunes – 90 grams;
  • Pickled cucumber – 1 large;
  • Testicles – 5 pcs.;
  • Fresh dill – 50 grams;
  • Carrots – 1 pc.;
  • Olives – 10 pcs.;
  • Green onions - 3 feathers;
  • Sunflower oil – 3 tbsp. l.;

Preparation:

  1. We have a salad with chicken, so we will rinse it and separate the skin. Let's cook with salt and spices. Once it’s ready, take it out and let it cool. Then we separate the bones from the meat and cut them into large pieces;
  2. Now it’s the turn of the mushrooms. It is better to take large champignons, we will scrape them with a knife (clean them a little), then rinse them. Next we start cutting, we need large slices;
  3. Heat some sunflower oil in a frying pan and add chopped mushrooms to it. Fry until soft, stirring frequently. Then we’ll send it to cool down;
  4. Chop the cucumbers coarsely, squeeze a little juice from them;
  5. Boil the eggs and let them cool on their own. Clean and chop them into small pieces;
  6. Wash the carrots from the soil. Then we throw it into boiling water to boil, but do not add salt to the water, this is not necessary. When it becomes soft, take it out and let it cool. Then we peel the vegetable and grate it;
  7. Rinse all the greens well and shake off any droplets of water. Let's dry it a little. Chop the dill along with the onion;
  8. Add all the brine to the olives and cut the berries in half;
  9. We will sort out the prunes from all kinds of garbage. Then we’ll steam it in boiling water, if necessary. So that it swells. Drain the liquid and let it cool. Then cut into small pieces;
  10. Now we assemble our salty salad floor by floor, as required by this recipe. Be sure to add mayonnaise between each ingredient. First we will lay out the chicken meat, and the mushrooms will go on top of it. Next is a layer of onions, carrots, prunes, chopped olives. After this, lay out the cucumbers, and then a layer of chopped eggs. Finally, sprinkle everything with a mixture of chopped herbs. Ready!

Recipe four: With chicken and tomatoes

We will need:

  • Chicken breast - 1 pc. (350-400 g);
  • Juicy ham - 150 g;
  • Fresh tomatoes - 2 pcs.;
  • Fresh salad - 1 bunch;
  • Parmesan cheese - 60 g;
  • Fresh cucumber - 1 pc.;
  • Mayonnaise “Provencal” - 100-150 g;
  • Onion - 1 onion;
  • Olives, parsley for salad garnish;
  • Salt and pepper to taste.

Preparation:

  1. We wash the chicken breast, boil it, remove it from the broth, cool it, and chop it into strips. If you don’t want to bother, then just grind it with a blender.
  2. Wash the onion, remove the skins, cut into half rings. To remove bitterness, onions can be pickled in a weak solution of vinegar or scalded with boiling water, but it is better to use the red variety.
  3. Remove the film from the ham and cut into strips.
  4. Wash the cucumber and also cut into strips.
  5. Cut the tomatoes into cubes.
  6. We tear the salad into shreds with our hands.
  7. Grind the cheese on a fine grater.
  8. Our salad is layered, so it will have the following “floors”: lettuce leaves, boiled chicken, onions, mayonnaise. Next comes ham, cucumber, pepper powder, again grease with mayonnaise. Then add tomatoes and salt. Top the salad with grated cheese and garnish with olives cut in half and a sprig of parsley.

Tip: This “Prague” salad should be served immediately; storing it in the refrigerator for a long time is unacceptable, since juice comes out of the tomatoes, which changes the taste of the dish for the worse.

A very beautiful and tasty layered salad that looks like a million and delights all guests not only with its appearance, but also with its taste. A time-tested snack dish!

Boil 400 g chicken breast

Pickled cucumbers – 2 medium

Egg – 1 pc. boil

Carrots – 1 pc. boil medium

Green peas – ¾ cup

Everything is very simple, so I’m just describing it layer by layer.

3 layer finely chopped onion.

4 layer mayonnaise (thin layer).

7 layer mayonnaise.

10 layer mayonnaise.

Puff salad “Prague”

As a rule, upon hearing the name of a dish, most housewives think that we are talking about a popular confectionery product - a cake. But in our case, this name is given to the puff salad “Prague”.

Ingredients:

  • Chicken – 300 gr.
  • Pickled cucumbers – 4 pcs.
  • Onions – 1 pc.
  • Carrots – 2 pcs.
  • Egg – 2 pcs.
  • Green peas – 100 gr.
  • Prunes – 100 gr.
  • Mayonnaise.
  • Greens for decoration.

Preparation:

To prepare the salad, the first step is to boil chicken meat (you can use any other meat), cool, separate from the bones and select the most tender pieces. Selected meat should be finely chopped. Peel the pickled cucumbers and then grate them on a coarse grater.

The carrots must be washed, peeled and cooked until tender, then grated. The prunes must first be boiled, then separated from the pits and finely chopped.

Onions must be peeled and chopped with a knife. Boil the eggs hard, and after they have cooled, grate them on a coarse grater.

We take the canned green peas out of the jar and drain the liquid from it.

The prepared ingredients should be placed in a salad bowl in this order: put chopped meat on the bottom of the dish, then grated pickles, add chopped onions, then grated eggs. We form the next layers in this way: lay out grated carrots, green peas on top of them, and the last layer should consist of boiled prunes.

After all the layers are laid, season the salad with three spoons of mayonnaise (no need to stir the salad!) Decorate the prepared “Prague Layered Salad” with chopped herbs and put it in the refrigerator or other cool place for a while. An hour after this, the dish can be served.

Prague salad is prepared from simple ingredients, does not take much time and is easy to prepare. The tandem of chicken and prunes is its main note, which harmoniously combines with carrots, peas, eggs and cucumbers.

Instead of mayonnaise, you can use sour cream.

IRA is the WORLD

Thank you, apparently you can use either beans or peas..

First, wash the champignons and cut them in half, then each half lengthwise with a cutting step of approximately 2 -3 mm. Place the mushrooms in a non-stick frying pan and dry them until golden (but they should not be completely dry!). If necessary, drain the liquid from the mushrooms during the drying process.

We do not add oil. Because the mushrooms absorb it and become too fatty for our purposes)
Cut the ham into cubes, approximately 1 cm by 1 cm. Mix the mushrooms and ham, season with mayonnaise and serve! We usually eat it with bread (Elizabeth, for example, thin and crispy))
Bon appetit.
