Product composition

  • one kilogram of cod;
  • 1.5 kilograms of potatoes;

  • one sweet bell pepper (you can also use frozen);
  • 100 milliliters of table wine;

Delicious cod fish casserole with potatoes: step-by-step cooking process

  1. Wash the cod (whole carcass or ready-made fillet), remove bones, and cut into portions.
  2. We wash the potatoes, peel them and cut them into slices 3-4 millimeters thick.
  3. Finely chop the peeled garlic cloves with a knife.
  4. Peel two heads of onions and cut into thin half rings.
  5. Pour milk into a saucepan, put it on the stove and bring to a boil.
  6. Place cod pieces in boiling milk and boil for 10 minutes.
  7. Grease a baking sheet with butter.
  8. Remove the cod from the milk with a slotted spoon and place it in the center of the baking sheet.
  9. Place the potatoes in a saucepan with boiling milk and cook for 8 minutes.
  10. While the potatoes are cooking, put a frying pan on the fire and pour vegetable oil (sunflower or olive) into it.
  11. Place the garlic and onion half rings into the heated oil and fry them until translucent.
  12. After this, add finely chopped sweet bell peppers to the frying pan: you can use either fresh or frozen. We pour in table wine (white wine is more suitable for fish), but you can do without it: it will still be very tasty.
  13. Mix everything and fry for another 10 minutes.
  14. We take the finished potatoes out of the milk and place them around the perimeter of the baking sheet: around the fish.
  15. Salt and pepper everything to taste, add your favorite herbs that go well with meat.
  16. Place the fried vegetables on top of the potatoes and fish and pour over the juice released during frying.
  17. Place the baking sheet in the oven, preheated to 180 degrees, for 30 minutes. If desired, you can top everything with more mayonnaise or sour cream.
