How to cook crackers at home in the oven

To make croutons you will need:

Loaf 1 pc.;
- Oil 100-150 gr.;

There is no need to chop, a size of 1-1.5 cm will be enough.

2. 50-100 gr. Melt the butter over low heat in a frying pan (in my case). You can supplement or replace with vegetable oil to your taste, absolutely any. Sunflower, olive, nut, corn.

3. Peel the garlic and add to the melted butter, crushing or coarsely cutting it. After 2-3 minutes, you can remove the garlic, the oil will be saturated with its aroma, and it will no longer be needed. Or simply rub the croutons with cloves after frying.

I generally used dry crushed garlic, as well as paprika and ground black pepper.

Likewise, seasonings and chopped herbs are added to the oil.

4. Add bread cubes to the resulting mixture and mix. Moisten the bread pulp with oil and seasonings. At this stage you can add salt. The salt crystals will soften slightly and be absorbed into the texture of the croutons.

There is another option to moisten the pieces of bread with butter. Pour it into a plate, dip only one side of the bread and place it in a stack so that the oiled side is in contact with the clean side. Leave it like this for 8-10 minutes. And then bake it anywhere, in a frying pan, in the oven or in a slow cooker.

In the microwave, place it on a dish or plate, and the layer should be even. And put on heat for 2 minutes, stir the croutons every 20-25 seconds so as not to burn.

How to make croutons from white bread in a slow cooker

White bread;
- Chicken egg 1 pc.;
- Milk 1-2 tbsp. spoons;
- Oil 80-100 gr.

There is another good way to make garlic croutons, tasty but softer. And for a change, let's fry them in a slow cooker.

1. Heat the butter in it until it melts.

2. When frying, dip the bread in milk, or a mixture of milk and egg (whipped until smooth). On each side and place in the multicooker bowl, they fit 3-5 pieces. depending on the size of the loaf or loaf. But no one bothers you to cut it into cubes or bars. This way you can fit even more of them, but dipping small pieces is more difficult, a different method is needed.

3. Fry the toast laid out on the bottom of the bowl for 5-7 minutes on each side. Using the “fry” mode (try with the lid open) or the “baking” mode for 15 minutes, but do not forget to stir. And if you fry whole slices, then after 5-7 it is advisable to turn them over.

If you prepare croutons as an independent snack, you can marinate them longer in oil with spices and fry them over high heat for 3-4 minutes. It is advisable to blot excess fat with a napkin or paper towel.

Hot crackers can be sprinkled with cheese shavings.

What to serve with

As already written, sprinkle with grated cheese while the croutons are still hot. It will melt and taste delicious.

Eat them with sprats, or some other canned fish. Use the fish in pieces or turn it into a paste with the addition of mayonnaise or sour cream, for example.
